Odd marlin 60

About a year ago at a gunshow I purchased a model 60 that disk quite fit the different versions commonly known. It has the bolt stop feature with the longer barrel and 17+1 magazine. I checked the serial number and it came up as the first year of the bolt hold open. Would this be something that could have come factory or would it be a modification made by a previous owner?

After doing some more research, it was made in 89, but it does have the longer magazine tube and the hold open feature.
