Latest from the ranch

Not a big Axis, but one my wife shot last week. If you can zoom in on the whitetails in the feedpen, notice the white splotches on the big doe.

The Cimmaron Ranch just down from ours is considering a meat hunt to include Axis and Fallow. Hope it pans out. That would be a nice off season hunt.

Sorry that I have not responded, but for over a week I could not get the link to open the web site. Not sure why.   Thanks GB, she was proud. I watched that Axis and another smaller ne along with 5 whitetail doe the previous morning and figured they would be back. So, I put Teresa in that blind the following morning and as expected he came back out.  Great eaing for sure.   Tell Faye to get going on those deer. Mohawk, the wonderful thing about Texas, free ranging exotics, at least in my area.  Very enjoyable. Heading back out Monday the 11th with my oldest sister..

Markc, a question, the dog in the top picture is a Feist?  Congratulations to your bride.  A nice buck.  I can smell the backstrap on the grill now.

Here's a pic of Charlie, my Feist.  That's how skinny he was when we got him.  He was running stray in our area and we picked him up and advertised we had him, and nothing.  He's mine now and has added quite a bit of weight.  He's a good little hunter and a loving companion.

Hey Pete that is a cute little dog.  here is my squirrell dog, with my wife's deer a few seasons back,
Here on my place looking down to the thick season creek bottom

Doc, thanks, she should have waited though, this one was bigger with 6 decent points though I could not zoom in much with my camera.
