Thanks, Cat Whisperer, you confirmed what I was only guessing. But of those two locations in New Market, I picked the one with the 4400 in the phone number which I remembered, 540-740-4400, and called them to confirm that it was really there. The very nice young lady I talked to said, "Yes Sir, it is.....right outside. Ya'll come by an' visit!" So, there you go, that's probably only the second replica we will ever want to see in the United States. There is a 100 Pdr. Parrott Rifle at Fort Pulaski, Georgia. It looked so real, when I first saw it in 2002, that I had to get up really close to find it to be a fiberglass replica. The tip off was the fact that the fort employees had tied it to the original 1859 carriage with bright, zinc plated hose clamps. I thought, that's really odd; why, for heavens sake, would you tie down a tube which should weigh about 9,800 lbs.? A simple rap on the trunnion end told the story. It was hollow. Further confirming it's replica nature, was the fact that it had two rear sight masses, one on the right, (Correct) and one the left, (Incorrect) rimbases.
