I mostly used Burris LU-T bases, but also Leupold DD T/C-C, Warne M988 or VVCG custom (now Stratton Custom) steel 6-hole bases on factory and custom Contender bull barrels.   Some folks use Weaver type bases as well.

Your 10"" 44MAG doesn't need the 6-hole or Warne.   The Burris uses a windage rear ring that is nice, either steel or Signature w/insert.   The dual dovetail Leupold base can also be had as a QD T/C-C if you want to take the scope off and on.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

If you want a Weaver it is the 92a.  They are an aluminum extrusion, therefore no windage adjustment.  Your rear sight screws mat have thread lock on them.  Invert the barrel and heat the screws enough to break the bond.  Use a proper screwdriver or bit. The slot is not very deep. Make sure your base screws are tight. A loose base will cause accuracy problems as well as being no good on the screw holes. A drop of oil on the barrel will help displace moisture that may creep between the barrel and base. Grease is better. rp

The Weaver base gives you the option of using scope rings (I use Burris "Z" rings) or mounting a Red Dot that uses Weaver mounts.
I also put a dab of blue Loctite on the scope base mounting screws to keep them from backing out.

I also use the Weaver base with blue lock tight on the screws with steel Weaver rings. Got them on 10" 357 mag & 14" 30-30AI and never had a problem.
