That's the one I settled on. Great accuracy out of my #1-rsi.

Any of the 4350s are good with 180s in the 06.

Yep, any of the 4350 types are good to try.
That powder is excellent for 165 gr bullets as well.

In the 30-06 with 180 gr. bullets IMR 4350 has been the favorite of such knowledgeable folks as Warren Page, Hank Waters and Finn Aagaard...and I think it was for O'Connor, as well.

There is every reason to believe a great load could be developed with very little trouble using H4350.

I'm shooting H-4350 with 180gr Partition in a custom 30-06 with Bartlein barrel.  I've also use same powder/bullets in two other 30-06 great results.  H-4350 is one of Hodgdon Extreme  Powders and I've shot it down  to -27 on an elk hunt.

Well good luck

I have another 30-06 with a Shilen barrel set as a late season cow elk rifle and I'm shooting 150gr E-Tip with H-4350 and I'll use that rifle this year if I draw a late cow tag.  I've shot alittle IMR-4350 in that rifle and I got some good groups velocity was so-so.

4350 works very well to excellent in my 06s.  With a 180 gn bullet, 4350 can give you a low pressure accuracy load at 38k cup pressure and 2450'/sec, a factory duplication load at 45k cup pressure and 2650'/sec as well as a higher pressure accuracy loading at 50k cup pressure and 2800'/sec.

IMR4350, AA4350 or H4350 are all historic powders for use in the 30-06 Springfield and 180 grain bullets.

I use IMR-4350 in my 243 Winchester with 95-100 grain bullets, 270 Winchester with 130-150 grain bullets, 7mm-08 Remington & 7mm (7x57) Mauser Ackley Improved with 140-154 grain bullets and of course 30-06 Sprigfield Ackley Improved with 150-180 grain bullets.

I will soon add my favorite of all cartridges the venerable 338-06 A-Square with 180-250 grain bullets.

I don't use the 180 grain bullets, but with the 165 grain Nosler a load two grains less than the maximum load listed on the Hodgon Website gives 2807 FPS with H4350 and groups into less than 1 inch for 3 shots at 100 yds consistently.   For deer hunting most of  us in my area use the 165 or less weight bullets.

I still have a stock of H380 left to use with the 130 grain bullets that shoots .5-.6 tenth inch groups at 100 yards for 3 shots.

H4350 for the 150, 165 and 180 grain bullets,  H380 for the lighter ones.  2nd choice H4895 is close enough to use when my supply of H380 runs out for the lighter bullets.

Not in contradiction to the above, if the 4350 family doesn't work for you, IMR 4064 was /is a traditional powder for the 30-06 as well.

IMR 4350 was also Whelens favorite with the sierra 180 btsp, in his book "why not load your own" he recommends 56 grains for all around hunting and 57 as a 1000 yard match load but cautions not to use it on hot days as pressure is high.  This matches hodgdons website where they list 56.5 grains as a max load with that bullet.  I worked up to that load and have been very happy with it.  Dropped a spike elk last fall with one shot, my first one shot elk.  As an aside, this is one reason I really like the IMR powders, they seem more consistent year in, year out, from manual to manual.

I never much saw the need for a 180 grian bullet in an 06. I keep them for the 300 mags but my best load in my rem o6 is a ww 150 power point bullet with h4350. I just shot some yesterday to make sure it was still sighted in and shot a 1/2 inch 5 shot group at a 100 yards so that 4350 powder has to be good for something!!
