Pictures of Robertson's Battery at Selma 2011
« on: May 02, 2011, 04:02:00 PM »
This is our battery in operation this weekend at Selma.  The barrel is an 1841 6lb Field Cannon made by South Bend.  The limber and everything else is homemade.

Where were you relative to downtown?
Near the river? Or north or west of town?

Very nice pictures

Looks like your battery really did a fantastic job on the carriage and limber.  Lots of carriage details are revealed by those excellent photos.  Mike and I own 4 South Bend replica tubes and we have seen them in 14 or 15 different states around the country.  Never have we owned or seen a bad one!  The detail they put into their cannon tubes makes them close to perfect.

Thanks Swampman!

OK, I've got to ask.  What Selma?  I live close to Selma, NC, and hadn't heard of this.  Or am I in the wrong state? ???

So, did the 4th Iowa Cavalry overrun your battery?

Who's that old goober holding the lanyard?  ;D

The gun looks great!  Hope to see it in person sometime in the future.
