Hi Deputy!
The trigger pulls on the G2 can be as good as the old Contenders, maybe even better by just replacing the sear return spring with a lighter one. You can also tweak the factory spring a little and get the trigger pull down to about 1.5 - 2 lbs. Cost is "free" up to about $8.00 if you do it your self.
Also, the G2's no longer come with a trigger overtravel screw, but the trigger guard still has the rectangular "flat" to drill and tap if you want one. I did both of mine with a #6 tap and set screw that you can get from the hardware store. I like the #6 size better than the tiny #4 size set screws that came from the factory.
The last trick you can do, if you are inclined to do the work your self is to install a heavier hammer spring. I installed a 52lb spring in mine, which helps to make the trigger pull much crisper and helps with accuracy and consistency.
The total cost of all this (if you do the work yourself) is about $35.00 including the price of the drill bit and thread tap! I did the trigger work on both of my G2's for about $50.00.
Of course you can pay a gunsmith $100.00 or so to do it for you......
