I know of several who had just bought sewing machines and they returned them and said if you won't sell me the fabric, I don't want your machine.
They did away with layaway too, to push their new credit card. I know a lady who had a daycare. She bought a lot of stuff on layaway. She said if they don't want my business I'll go elsewhere. She had spent over $42,000 at that store the prior year. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

On April 11th, Walmart began a new price matching policy. They will match any price (including internet sales) as long as it's available in their catalog.

A lot of folks bash Walmart for opening stores in a community and pricing established mom & pop shops out of business. Sears was the company that started this business model. Their catalog was like internet sales are to us today. My Dad owned a property flanked by Craftsman homes; they were delivered as a kit to the property and assembled. I can imagine how well liked that option was to construction companies back then...

VICTOR3. Wm used to honor all sale ads and ya didn't need the ad either. Unless they just now changed  they require you to have the ad with you. Sears is also the one who started the maintenence agreement crap instead of a guarantee. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Wonder if they'll make it back here. In my general vicinity there are 9 Wal-marts that I know of and when they started limiting gun sales all but 1 of those dropped them - strangely enough it wasn't a particularly rural Wal-mart that kept them - indeed the one closest to the boonies stopped selling them :S.

Oh well.  Would be nice in a way to see them back I guess.  The guns they carried were mostly uninteresting, but once every year when they started clearancing some of the old stock there were some VERY good deals to be had.

My Walmart in NH never stopped selling guns. I've bought a few guns from them over the years.

My Walmart 700ADL .30-06 with 24" barrel will shoot one hole at 100 yards.  Walmart has over the years offer special models that no one else could sell.  A stainless 10-22 with 22" barrel and no front band was one of them.

I didn't see anything about a .24 hole, but I think all guns will shoot one hole at just about any distance. One bullet one hole. ::)

guzzi. As usual you don't seem to understand what you read. The 24 in his post was a 24 inch BARREL.  :P :P
My last 3 trips to wm ended up with out of stock. Lots of outs since corporate took over all the ordering. My last trip I wanted to buy a new 22 rifle, out of stock. More lost sales because of stupidity on corporates part.  POWDERMAN.  :o :o

In the past 50 or so years I have worked on many rifles getting them to shoot. Being of slow mind and poor memory I always thought it was mostly a mechanical problem. Now after all that wasted time I find it depends on where you buy the rifle. :'(

Now you are going to be hearing from the people who know for a FACT that the guns Walmart sells are not the same quality as the guns sold everywhere else.  Their brother's best friend's cousin told them that the gun he bought there was just a piece of junk and even had a secret number stamped under the barrel that proves it was a reject from the manufacturer that only the evil Walmart would sell. It's a conspiracy I tell ya......... :P

Swampy alway brags about how accurate his Remingtons are and I was sarcastically saying that his guns are so accurate that they can shoot a group smaller than the bullet diameter. Got it now?

The wife just got her first gun. a Savage 93 17hmr from Chinamart. The price sticker said model 93 so I made the mistake of assuming it was a basic model 93 just like I have. I was surprised at the price $184..well when I got home I realized how they keep the price cheaper than anyone else in town. They sold the non-accutrigger model. I didnt even know they made these without the accutrigger. LUCKILY this is my wifes first gun and will probably be under 100 yard bench duty most of its life but it bugged the hell out of me. I hope its not a stiff tigger, I havent tested it yet. The shipping box was so mangled and they had to tape it back together for the manager to carry it out of the store.

I avoid chinamart whenever possible but she had her 10 percent off discount card from working there previously ( they havent cancelled it yet!)  Fortunately I live in an area where there are other shopping choices but I come from a small isolated town. It was your typical average small town, had everything you NEED but not much else. Well walmart moved in and now half of the main street business buildings are vacant. Its almost to the point where you HAVE to shop there or drive an hour to the next town for groceries.

Since walmart got rid of the fabric dept in most of their stores we have to drive 50 miles one way to the only one around here who carries fabric anymore. My wife makes quilts and needed more material. We drove the 50 miles to get what she needed. They were all out of the 5 items she needed, might be in next week. I shopped for a few groceries and found the cappucino shelf bare. I finally found a worker in the back. He checked and said, be on the truck tonight. I got so disgusted I left the cart and groceries and we left. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

An article in the LOU Courier Journal today said that wm was concerned about the high price of gas keeping lower income folks from spending their money there. Why aren't they concerned about the thousands of employees who have to pay $4 a gal or more to get there and only are permitted to work 4 hours at a time?? Why don't they arrange schedules that allow carpooling?? Two of the words wm loves to use is, WALMART CAN'T. Just another lie. Wm CAN, but refuses to cooperate. The more stress they can cause, the higher the turnover rate keeping pay at the starting rate. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Not sure if the local Wallyworld here in town is going to start selling guns or not. They quit a few years ago. If they do, won't make much difference to me. I buy enough stuff from them, I'll buy my guns from the local shop or at a gun show. Might cost me a couple bucks more, but I'd rather try and keep the local small business man going.
Beside's, don't think Wallyworld would appreciate a bunch of fat old bald buys standing around the gun rack drinking coffee and swapping lies. gypsyman

I've swapped plenty of lies around the gun rack at my local Wally world, before they stopped selling guns.  I don't think they care one way or another, I do know that if you need help, you have to go into hunting mode to find any one to help you.

When you allow a lie to go unchallenged, it becomes the truth.
