The guy hosts a game show.
After the current leadership vacuum, I suppose even a game show host can look like a leader.

The difference between people who do stuff and people who don't do stuff is that the people who do stuff do stuff.

He laced a recent speech with a bunch of "F" bombs and commented that it would also be the way he would talk with China and the rest of the world.
I can't believe the quality of candidates running for president. Lets call Disney and see if Mickey is available.

Trump.  He would make for good theater but we would also have to get used to Mr. O in the White House for another 4 years.  Ditto Newt, Palin, Huckabee, Jindal et al.

Time for new blood.

Hey, any of the names you listed would be a thousand times better than what we're stuck with right now, but I agree that there are probably better choices out there.  At the moment I'm still thinking Michele Bachmann.

If Trump gets the nod then get ready for 4 more years of Obama.

Time for leaders rather than celebrities.
I would say if you have ever had your own tv show, you are disqualified.

Trump and 3 term NYC mayor Bloomberg have the same advantage. They don't have to raise money. Which means that they can play all sorts of games to box the opponent into not having any. And the GOP can funnel funds to politicians  that need it. Obama is already fundraising. Had the $30k/plate dinner in Harlem last month.

I like that Trump is candid. He tends to speak his mind.

Not much difference in them or the people who elect them ;)
So far, with the exception of a dominant spouse or Union official nobody holding a gun to their heads in the booth.Republicans are gonna vote for a republican. Be it Donald Trump or Donald Duck. and Democrats are gonna vote for a democrat.And this time we know who it will be.

The Republicans would do well to remember the lesson the Democrats learned the hard way in 2004.

No matter how beatable the opponent seems, it is not only possible, but completely likely that you can hand him victory by choosing the wrong candidate for your own party's nominee.

Bush in 2004 was infinitely beatable.  He was lying flat on his back in the polls, he was a terrible campaigner and speaker, he had staked his presidency on a war that public preception said was headed rapidly toward being another Vietnam.  His response to 9/11 looked haphazard as did his economic policies.

So who do the Democrats pick to run against him?  An East Coast, went-to-all-the-right-schools, plum-mouthed, blueblood, career politician, from "a good political family".   :o  Essentially, they picked the perfect representative that would appeal to the Democratic party intelligentsia in Calafornication and New Yaak and absolutely nobody else.

The bottom line is that the Democrats snatched defeat from the jaws of victory 2004.  Republican party take note!  History repeats itself because the unwise and unwary don't learn hard lessons.  Trump in 2012 = humiliating defeat.

Let's be smart about this.  Roy Christie + Tim Pawlenty as VP = Certain victory.  Leave the media celebos like Palin and Trump aside, put up a serious candidate, and win.

Sometimes I think that the entire Republican party is on the take to throw elections.

Republican voter share the blame for the way they vote.
We should not vote for the closet liberals and and lukewarm conservatives the GOP keeps serving up.
It's time to let the GOP know we are not going to take what they want to give us and stop acting like mindless liberals.
Even if that means another 4 years with this vile puke we have now.
It's better we should die standing on our principles than to die by compromising them.

What the Republicans need to remember is the lessons from Ronald Reagan:  You win the oval office not by winning the votes of your own party.  You win by attracting swing voters and independents.

Anybody else remember the "Reagan Democrats?"  If you don't, I'll explain that Reagan was so good at attracting cross-the-spectrum support that they actually had a name for the Demorcratic faithful that couldn't resist an off-party vote for Reagan even though they were checking every other box on their ballot for a Democrat.

Extremeists get nowhere.  It's certainly the rights of the Tea Party faithful and ultra-right Republicans to be unwilling to compromise on anything, but they'll be doing so from the outside looking in.  And it'll be for a lot longer than for just 4 more years of Obama.  The economy will get better simply by virture of the normal cycle.  Obama and the Democrats will take credit and that will ensure not just 4 more Obama years, but a prime setup for Hillary in 2016.

Far from "a lock"..and it's a while untill 2012 elections.  Let's watch the economy..including inflation, cost of living, unemployment, debt accumulation and opportunities for American exceptionalism again.  These items are all more telling..

You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out;
You put your right foot in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your left foot in,
You put your left foot out;
You put your left foot in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your right hand in,
You put your right hand out;

And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,

You put your left hand out;
You put your left hand in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about!

You put your right side in,
You put your right side out;
You put your right side in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.

You put your backside in,
You put your backside out;
