Need a good canopy.
« on: March 28, 2011, 07:26:28 PM »
I had one of the original EZ-UP canopies for years, but having to cut and re-weld the uprights twice after they kinked in windy conditions I put it out on the curb after the 3rd time they bent.

Is there a canopy out there that doesn't get damaged in the wind and doesn't take an hour to set up? I'm hoping for something that doesn't require lines and stakes but I think that may be the only way.

If you camp where there is timber you might be able to tie off a tarp to trees and use a center pole to shed any rain off the tarp. But in a treeless area I think you will need poles & guy lines staked out.  ;)

Bungee cords are your friends.  Always take twice as many as you think you'll need.

I drive metal fence t-post, then slip pvc pipe over them with a 90 degree transition, stretch the tarp over it.  drive t- post on the sides to tie the tarp to.
