(The misses asked me to go shooting today)
I went shootin and took my 90's springer which has been stove piping 1rd per mag. Its still brand new and i found out the extractor needed tuning. I got the Jerry K 45acp shop manual and his armorers video. My 90's springer cycles flawlessly now. No hickups, if an's or butt's its awesome to see it perform now. My 90's springer in black park not only shoots great its purdy too in black park. I did try my two new Chip McCormic 8rd mags in it too and both worked flawlessly too.
I finally got to test fire my NIB never shot yet 2005 Springer G.I Mil-Spec. Right out of the box its been flawless and no slamm'in or stove piping or jamm'in at all. Its a number two test fire that went as planned. This is a basic springfield armory G.I. Mil-Spec model so its called on the green plastic box. It's just lubed with moly and test fired using wolf 45acp ball ammo.
With my norinco the one i installed the new barrel and NM barrel bushing i did some more upgrades to it by ramping the disconnect area on the bottom of the slide were it had a little chamfer that strikes the disconnector. It now has a bevel on the edge so it can ramp up the disconnector as the slide goes over it. It smooths out the action of the slide. There's no more "bump action" like it had before. If you run the slide over this spot when its orginal it feels like your car hit a pot hole. Another change that went great and another test fire thats awesome too. My norinco still cycles faster than any 1911 i have. I figure my other 1911's are still new and tight while my norc has been ridden hard and put away wet.
I gave the misses a box of 22lr bullets and my taurus model 94 in 22lr 9 shot revolver and let her play with it. She had fun with it. She didn't like the yugo pistol in 32acp. So the 9's and 45acp are out of the question. Of course i forgot my ruger MkII at home. Next time. CZY
My point is there is no 1911 that can't be fixed or repaired to function properly. Its awesome to see my 90's springer function finally the way it should and i fixed it. And my tweeked norinco improving with every change.
