Pawnshop 22 Henry Today
« on: May 26, 2011, 03:07:17 PM »
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought a nice used 22 lever Henry ser #035xxx today. It has 1860 on the buttplate. Is that the model or is that on all Henry's?    I'd say it's less than 20 years old. Beautiful blued barrel w/ nice wood grain in the stock. It looks like my 1892 Winchester because the tube and the barrel are the same length instead of the tube being a couple inches shorter than the barrel on most Henry 22s I see in current pics.  None of the new Henrys on their website looks like this 22 due to todays shorter tube lengths.   No shroud on the front sight. Paid $200. Any answers about this gun would be appreciated such as: what model is it, why did Henry shorten the tube length, what year was it made?.

I wish the action on my Miroku Winchester was as good as the action in this Henry.

Anybody?
I know with Rugers and other rifles I can read the ser# and find the year of MFG.
I believe this a 22lr model 1892 made about 20-30 years ago. I would just like to know what model Henry referred to it as.

Is this a dead forum?

That's prolly around the time the original Henry rifle in .44 Rimfire came out. There is no real direct relationship between Henry Arms today and those old rifles that began the lever action legacy but I assume the current company owns the rights to the name.
