Then I proceeded to shoot the remaining 40 rounds from the Rams (500 meters) to the Chickens (200 meters) with previous settings on the rifle. No change needed for the settings and the load performed with excellent accuracy

I did not blow tube or wipe the bore shooting the 40 rounds! There was absolutely no degradation in accuracy. Here's the patches: 1 wet with water and remainders dry ...

This powder and the the load is a Winner!

What twist does that .38-55 have?

Thuer, the Uberti's have the standard 1:18 twist. 
THE bullet for this twist... took me 2 years to put a group buy together to have Lyman remake the Ideal 375166.  Why this bullet?  Using the BP Greenhill formula that was in the Black Powder Cartridge News, the bullet calculated to 17.65 for a 1:18 twist.  When I got the mold and cast some, using the Powley Stabilizer Calculator, determined the bullet had maximum stability in a 1:18 for the powder charge min-max velocities using 42gr of powder in 1.5g and FFg.  It is the most accurate 38-55 bullet I have shot and really 'shines' at less than 1100 fps.
