Can a Ruger #1 or #3 be rebarreled with a tapered octagonal barrel?  I have been told that it doesn't work out too well.

other then making a new scope mounting rib and a new forearm fitted to the barrel i cant see why it wouldnt work.

You mite try and contact Carolina Prescsion or Accuracy can't remember whihch now but they work on No-1 quit a bit

Ya, no reason why not other than it's got to be small enough to turn past the spring hanger. Might not give you much shoulder to tighten up on though, you'd have to look at how much you'd have there.
