No, it's not about Christmas but the day after.
One of my Boy Scouts has a genetic disorder. He is sixteen and is going blind. One of the things on his Bucket List is to get a deer while he can still see. He has passed his hunters saftey test and shoots pretty well with a scoped rifle. He has his rifle shooting merit badge.
He had hunted with a man that is his mentor this year but came up empty. The day after Christmas opens the extended doe season in Alleg. county. There will be three Scout leaders and two Scouts driving deer for this kid in the valleys around our community.
I haven't said anything to his Dad or the kid yet but I have a taxidermist that owes me a favor and has a good heart too. If we can get a deer for this boy, buck or doe, I want to get it mounted. In this way, when the day comes that he can no longer see, this mount will be his photograph to touch and remember.
Please! put us on your prayer list. I want this so badly. It think it means as much to me and the other guys driving as it does to the boy.
