Sizing for 9mm and 357

I am just getting started with casting bullets for 9mm and 357MAG/38SPL.  Does anyone know if a .357 lee sizer would take care of both calibers or do i need the .356 and .358?

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE 9MM BUT MY 686 LIKES LIKES .358 SIZE

If you want accuracy and if you want to minimize leading, you'll want a bullet sized about a thousandth larger than the groove diameter of the barrel it will be fired in. Thus you'll want to slug each barrel to learn those dimensions and get a sizer tailored for each.

I usually first try a 357 in a 9mm and a 358 in a 38/357. Sometimes a 357 wont feed well and a guy has to go to 356 and sometiimes in the 38/357 a 359 shoots a tad better.

Pete:  your 9s should be sized to .356 and your 38/357s to .358.  There will be exceptions, of course.  Some Colt Pythons I loaded for preferred .357 sized slugs, as does my Destroyer Carbine and a older Luger I loaded for.  If your 9mm barrel slugs to .355 then go to .356 size cast but you can generally expect your 38/357 to prefer .358 dia cast slugs.  Ime.

Revolver bullets need to be sized to match the chamber throats in the cylinder. Semi-autos should be sized to match the throat area of the barrel. No two guns are the same, and nominal groove diameters are different for the two calibers. Cast bullets must fit correctly, or you will be mighty unhappy with the result. One size rarely ever works for both.

I have a MK3 Browning HP that would NOT shoot cast very well with bullets sized to .356. I then started to size them to .358 (bore slugged at .357) and now it will shoot better than I can....I have a little light plinker of Lee 120gr. TC on top of a light charge of Bullseye and it is a dead on shooter.

I size 9mm cast bullets 0.357" and 38/357 cast bullets 0.359".  They all shoot very well.

Slug the 9mm barrel, slug the barrel and throats of the 357m.  Revolver throat size and pistol barrel size plus .001 indicate the sizes to start with.  You may have to try some dummy rounds in the 9mm to make sure they will chamber first.  357 Mag shoud be fine with .358, but you never know.
