Help with next years project

I picked up a Win 94 trapper in 357  only thing on the shelf was some pistol handloads I had in 38 and 357 for a 6" S&W they did ok seem to like the 357 case better or may be is was the jacketed bullet 38 had lead? If anyone worked up some loads for the 16" 357 and have the inside track I would appreciate it. The main use for this gun will be to teach the grandkids and first deer rifle

I loaded 100 158gr Hornady XTP hollow points with a max load of H110 for a friend. He hunts with a Timber Wolf pump rifle. He is really impressed with the performance. He has shot a deer at just over 100 yards and several closer and has yet to recover a bullet. He told me the deer dropped as fast as with his .308.

Any of the slower powders would probably be a good place to start.  The longer barrel should benefit from them.  Consider trying the following:

H110/W296
Hogdon Lil' Gun
Ramshot Enforcer
Alliant 2400
