King Hardware Shotgun
« on: June 20, 2011, 07:45:07 PM »
I do not at this time know where to post this question. I have my great grandfather's single shot twelve guage shotgun. The serial number is 00055. and the only thing else to identify it is a stamp that says King HardWare. It still shoots well with low powder loads. I can remember when I was about fourteen years old shooting low brass factory loads in it, and every shot the forearm and barrel would fall off. I know I was stupid and was lucky I did not get hurt. I'm a bit older now (50) and know bettter. Is there any history relating to this shotgun. THANKS, Hawkenman

Hawkenman,

Since we live in the information age, just do a search for info on your gun. In the years between the wars a lot of guns were stamped with different hardware co. Names as well as catalog gun sellers. The 1968 gun laws put a stop to much of that. But with a computer you might be surprised at what you may find out on the old gun.
