44 Mag / 44 Special rifles?
« on: August 09, 2011, 09:32:21 AM »
Due to some "Oldtimers" issues, I have had to give up firing my big bore handguns and have gotten rid of all of my handguns, 44 Mag and bigger. I have a closet full of 44 mag and 44 Special ammo that I would like to shoot up. I'd like to get a rifle to shoot this ammo up and was thinking about something fun, like a lever action. Can anyone tell me if there is a lever gun that will shoot both the mags AND the Special ammo? If I had to, I could go with a bolt but I really don't even know if there is a bolt action rifle that will  handle both. Thanks for the info.

Ruger 77/44.  Not sure if it will handle the .44 special but seems like it should.

I have both the rossi and marlin in 44 mag. and it shoots spl. just fine they both hang up with 44 russians, to short I think.

My Marlin 1894 handles 44spls and mags very well. Same goes for the 1894 38/357, no problem at all.
