Quick detach rings
« on: June 17, 2011, 12:20:38 PM »
I recently ordered a Ruger/Gunsite Scout rifle.  I will be mounting an optic on it but would like to have a quick detach setup to be able to use the iron sights as well.  I have zero experience with QD rings and would like some recommendations.  My primary concerns are 1. strength 2. ability to return to zero and 3. how quickly it can be removed.  Thanks for your input.

The Ruger Gunsite Scout has a picatinny mount, so most Weaver style rings will work just fine.

As for QD rings,  I've used Warne QD and Leupold QRWs with no problems, you can expect repeatable hunting accuracy when remounted.
