Shot my 35 Rem
« on: July 01, 2011, 01:27:41 PM »
Went to the range today to sight in my new 35 Rem handi. I think it's going to be a shooter but it's hard to tell in the 98 degree SC heat. Both times I shot the gun with the barrel "warm" I got 100 yard three shot groups measuring 1 1/4"... if I took the gun to my truck and let it cool in the A/C it would spred the groups out about an inch from that. I guess the good news is either way it's minute of deer... the only bullet I shot today was the factory 200 grain Remington Core-Locks.

So if I interpret this correctly, you like AC, the gun doesnt.........
Good thing, I doubt if you would like it the other way around  ;).
Sounds like a shooter; are you going to try any cast bullet loads?

That's it... ;) I took the gun home and let it cool, then went back to the range to see where it was at... simulating a trip to the woods hunting and it was dead on left and right and about 1.5" high... sounds like a dead on 150 yard deer killer to me! That first shot is usally all you get :)

My 35 rem rechamber shorty loves the 150 gr factory loading.  Bought every box the store had.  Sounds like it'll do great for ya.

Good luck,

Jerry
