DM, I would love to hear more about you new double rifle. And any improvements you have made to it. Have you shot any game with it yet?

We wait in eager anticipation.......

I know that DM's DR is very nice given how particular he is.  I am stuck with a lowly Valmet DR and combo in 9.3x74r   :'( :'( :'(

Doug don't you think you need to work on that?  ;D I think the barrels on your DR look funny. All joking aside, I never cared for O/U shotguns or rifles. I have always preferred SxS shotguns. I've never owned a double rifle but I'm thinking about getting one.

  Hi Byron,

My DR is a Chapuis and is chambered in 9.3x74R.  It has an upgraded european walnut stock, selective ejectors and QA swing scope mounts.  They are a tight, well made DR, and IMHO the best buy in a DR of this power level, these days.  The 9.3x74R is just about the perfect DR hunting cartridge for mid sized game too, especially now with more and more mfg's makeing components and ammo.

I bought it a couple years ago, and i've only fired Nosler factory ammo in it.  It shoots very good and is regulated properly with 286 grain bullets.

I carried it deer hunting here on my place a couple times, and even though i had deer come out both times, i didn't shoot one with it as the deer i wanted didn't come out.

Anyway, i really DO like this DR, but it's set up for a right handed shooter, and i'm left handed.  I'm seriously thinking of selling it,   :'(  and ordering one from Chapuis set up for LH use.  I really hate to, as i doubt i'll get one that shoots as good as this one does, and certainly not with as good of quality of wood, with out paying a huge wood upgrade price. :'(   Also, the last Chapuis 9.3's i've seen, came with Claro instead of European wood...

SO, this is probably going to be the first firearm i've ever sold, that i really didn't want to...but i can't afford another without selling this one...

Two main things for me is, stock is cast for a RH shooter, and the cheek piece is on the wrong side for me.

If it was half, it would still be too much, and i'm sure it would cost more than half.  Keep in mind, this is upgraded english walnut.

I can shoot right handed, but i choose to shoot from the "proper" side, as that way i can have/shoot guns that you don't have.  ha ha ha

Hahaha

Oh I shoot shotguns mainly left handed and rifles mainly right handed.

When are you going to send me those guns...  :o :o :o

Then why not buy another DR set up for left handed and see what one shoots better and keep that one with the left hand stock...  And sell the other.

DM

If you post it on GBO it needs to be in the classified forum and you need to follow the rules of the forum.
