I finally got back to the range with my 77/44 after a couple of botched attempts to determine accuracy ( read loose scope rings) :'(

Ive only shot one load but @ 100 yds it looks like 240g XTP's over h110/296 are going to run in the 2 to 2.5" range x3 shots.

Of course I'll strive for more but given the rifle type,chambering, and use that's already quite satisfactory accuracy for me
At 100 yards it is minute of deer, pig, or black bear.

Looks like your sources  8) were spot-on. 

Im still most interested in the .44 mag cal.

but why oh why is it priced so high?  aaargh!  now I gotta add one to my list.  The list grows faster than the bank account.  But I REALLY want one!  Especially if they would do a blue/walnut model.  I guess I had better specify the .357 model!
