As far as cleaning after shooting cast bullets, it's way over exagerated in my book. I shoot only cast in my 45 B Hawk and 94 carbine. I don't have a leading problem at all. That's with hunting velocity loads and plinker loads too. If you get leading with a commercial bullet, a lot of times the answer is to shoot faster since store-bought bullets tend to be too hard for the pressure generated with a particular load. If they do lead though, back in the days when I bought some cast bullets, I coated them in Lee Alox and the problem disappeared.
