.30-30 barrel for a Ultra Varmint?

 I have a .223 Ultra Varmint an was thinking of getting a .30-30 barrel for it. Will there be major gaps between the barrel and the forend? Will I need new wood for it?

Welcome to GBO! All your answers may be found in the FAQs sticky at the top of the page. ;) Generally speaking all the wood is interchangeable so it can be used. The cosmetics will depend entirely on your tastes.
