How many different "tools" are you planning to use this season?

Last year I hunted over 25 days for deer, my best season yet.  My wife is finally beginning to understand that you can't just go out to the stand, wait 30 min., and then the deer conveniently walk by.  What I learned is that it's fun to mix it up a bit in what tool I choose to use that day.  Last season I went out with:

 - 44# recurve (no deer)
 - Tikka T3 in 30-06, (two deer, one ugly buck with a broken pedicle and a doe, shot at 18 and 26 yards)
 - Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt (colossal miss with the one shot I took, 16 yards)
 - M1 Garand (deer came in on the wrong side of the tree stand and I spooked them as I turned)

I'd love to hear if there are others that go out with different weapons for different days.

Forgot to add that this year I plan on hunting with a Marlin 1895 in 45/70 with paper-patched bullets and a 357 Magnum (if the deer are within 15 yards).  I might even get out the Garand again after I've filled at least one tag.

     Well that could be a long list but for sure the rem. Ti 700 in 7-08 sun. I dialed in a 1961-62 ruger 44 carbine for the heck of it I have had one in the safe for years and finely gave it a look as a blind gun this yr.  There is the rem. 700 ML for that season, and several other brands and cal. just begging to be used.   Jim

old 700 rem in 06, nobody laffs at the way it shoots!
old ruger 77/50 ml for frontstuffer season.it shoots so good i feel its kinda like cheating.
new ruger 45 colt blackhawk i may use during modern rifle season.

CZ 550 full stocked .308 for rifle areas
Savage 10ML II for late muzzleloading

Like Michigan and some other states the southern zone of New York had some shotgun only areas and some where centerfire rifles and shotguns both can be used.  I'm looking to fill as many as 6 tags this year.

Here in Ohio,   150 lb. Parker crossbow, Fully rifled 410 slugun shooting 44 cal. bullets,
50 cal. inline or a 58 cal. muzzleloader depending on how I feel.
Yearly trip to Wyoming for antelope ( 4 tags )   270 rimmed handi rifle, 308 win. single shot ,
45 ACP handi rifle.           Cant wait to get going,       Jed

Winchester 70 in 7mm WSM... (longer shots on mulies in colorado.. and for a boar hunt I have planned in Arkansas in December)
 
and a Traditions Outfitter in .243... (+/- 100 yard shots on Tennessee whitetail..)..
 
I have thought about picking up a muzzleloader bbl for the outfitter to extend the season out a little bit.. but dont think Ill have the ability to go during ML season this year (going to be doing some traveling for work around that time)..

This year a 50 caliber TC Hawken pushing a round ball with 90 gr. of 3F, My Whelen, my 22-250 and for the long stuff my 7MM Reminton magnum. 45 LC Ruger Vaquerro for odds n ends.

We have a 2 month bow season and I start with a 25 year old Mountaineer finger bow...Then comes muzzleloading and I'll use the .54 caliber flintlock I built back in the 80s...Sometimes that's all I use but I bought a 50th Anniversary Ruger Blackhawk in .44mag last year and I've been shooting her a bit...I'm good enough to be comfortable to 50 yards so I'm going to give her a try as well...I'll also probably pull out my 1980 model Ruger M-77 in .243 in December and take a few does off the farms as well...Should have fun with whatever we use...

As of now only one, Remington Mohawk 600 .243. Maybe another if i can find a sporterized 30-40 Krag by deer season.

I use a lot of 'tools' before I ever pick up a gun or bow. Clippers,loppers,pole pruner,straps,hammers,machete,chainsaw,tractor,the list goes on...... but then its a horton vision,savage ML,and a pair of browning 06's. Then at the end of the season its a benelli m1 super 90. Soon the cycle starts all over again.Life is good. Hope everyone has a safe and successful season.Its fixin' to start boys!
