Giant black bear shot in Wisconsin??
« on: September 24, 2010, 04:21:50 PM »
I heard tell that someone shot another 700# black bear in Wisconsin THIS YEAR, 2010!

Can't find pictures.  Anyone seen it?  (Not last year, not hit by a combine, not 2 years ago).
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!

looks like bears are getting bigger and bolder. Pennsylvania has recorded several 700+ pounders, usually taken with a 30/30 or 30/06...while in Wisconsin they knock them off with combines !  ;) :D ;D

ironglow....that bear was actually poached and it was a b.s. story they dreamed up about the combine.  the bear was confinscated by the dnr and is now on display at the fleet farm in menomonie with a b.s. story about the combine instead of the truth of the incident.

It looks like the front paw was injured that isnt the sign of a poacher but of a combine.

nope, this was last year and i aint looking for a link to it.  it is out there, if you want to find it, it wont be too hard to find.

this is very close to where i live.  it is in a small town and everyone there knew this story was baloney when it was going around.   it was an out of state hunter that shot it while deer hunting.   i am not going to argue with people who dont know anything and are trying to be an internet expert (NOT directed at you, iron) regarding 'the sign of a poacher'.   i am very up on the events around my area, and for northern wisconsin for that matter.   and those of you who know me, you know i dont profess something to be fact unless i know it for sure.

Check out Wisconsin Outdoor Journal. An 11 yr old boy shot a monster bear near Antigo. It was over 700 lbs. Right in your old stmping grounds Myron. This is the third one over 700 lbs in Wisconsin this year. One in Price county arounf Hawkinsmby a teenager, one near Bowler, and now this one near Antigo. This is very strange. I have never heard of one 700 lbs in Wisconsin, and now this year three of them in one year.
