If it's drilled & tapped for a scope it probably has the screw holes on the side for a receiver sight. If so, the Lyman will work as well as the Williams Foolproof, or if you can find one, the old Redfield (my favorite). If you are stuck with the scope mounting holes, the new Williams Foolproof or the WRGS (Williams Guide Receiver Sight) should work. Then as has been mentioned, the Skinner sights are available as well as several other "ghost" peeps.
You will probably have to install a higher front sight. I have used the old Sourdough Patridge fronts with Williams Foolproof rears on a number of 336s and Winny 94s. Like you said it makes an excellent utility gun, every easily carried in the woods.
