Accuracy of Interarms Rossi 92 rifle, 45 cal.

I own 3 of these.  2 carbines and a rifle.  The .357 carbine is the sweetest gun to shoot, but the same gun in .45 swells the cases excessively and requires .454 bullets to shoot accurately.   The .45 rifle shoots like a musket even with .457 bullets.  The bore is too large and the rifling too shallow for lead bullets.  I have yet to try .457 jacketed bullets.  Anyone else have this problem?   Will a modern Taurus Rossi M92 barrel fit the interarms reciever?   Ace

Majority of the new barrels havde the bulge too, it supposedly helps them feed easier.  Mine is from 2007 and shoots both sofht and hard cast bullets at .452 diametere accurately. Jus have to keep brass for it separate from the other 45 brass.

I've owned two of them in .45 Colt and both shot better than I do. One hole five shot groups at 25 yards. I don't recall shooting groups futher than that with either.

I never noticed any swelling of the brass in either of mine. That's a sample of only two but both were well made guns, shot accurately and didn't mess up my brass.

I have a stainless 92 Rossi in .45 Colt and another in .44 mag.  They're both very accurate with jacketed and cast.
1 1/2 to 2" with iron sights at 100 is as accurate as most folks can shoot. I shoot mainly heavy cast loads in both and never had any swelling.  I know several others with this same gun and have never heard of them having any problems either.  You may just have a "lemon ", I'd call Rossi.

I was thinking about picking up a lever . A model 92 Rossi 44 Mag would be a lot cheaper than to pick up a new Winchester at almost double the price .
 
Question How are the guns out of the box ? Do they need a new Hammer spring as well as a bit of polish here and there or is there more to it .
 
If I were to order in a Winchester 92 At about a Grand Canadain , would I need to tune that gun also ? Probable Right ?I would need to order it so then too !! Ya bought it MAN.

I have a 20" carbine in .45 Colt. Picked it up second hand from a fellow cowboy shooter. Haven't shot for groups on paper, but it'll hit the metal targets every time using 250 gr cast lead projectiles. I shoot blackpowder exclusively in it. No bulged cases. If I could find more at the price I bought mine, I'd buy a truckload of 'em! Great little guns from my experience.
