reseting YAHOO password
« on: July 02, 2011, 08:01:04 AM »
I just spent almost two hours resetting my YAHOO password. I have suspicions that they want me to do something that I don't wan't to do. In the past when they had a new wrinkle to start up, my system didn't work so well for a period of time. Seems to be happening again. Trying to get more advertiseing in front of us. Like the little popups that were blocked not too namy months ago. The page that you are on can put it's popups on screen and outside advertiseing is blocked (thank goodness).

It compares to cable and dish TV. WE pay to get programming and the advertisers pay to advertise, Everybody pays and the programming is wprse than ever. ear

Why in the world would you do anything that lets yahoo have access to your computer? They ain't getting close to mine.

GB, I certanly agree with you, but I use them as my home page and they caused the mess. They are always trying to get users into "better" whatever so they can up their hit count for advertiseing. Gets downright squirley at times.

I must remember, "patience old man, paitence". ear

I am confused. As usual. :(.  Why would you have to reset your pass word? I have had the same yahoo pass word for 6 years. When the pop up asks if i would like to up grade i hit the no button and that is the end of it. Like i said i am probably missing something in your original post. :-[  Could you please explain it to me so i don't end up with the same problem.

Websites, including this one change the type of passwords they require. My bank went from 4 letters to at least eight one being a number. This websiste went from simple to at least eight with a number and is case sensitive. All this to prevent hacking. Perhaps something like this is happened to you with Yahoo.

They never ntyified that they required specifics but I did add a cap and a number when I changed, Used the same password each time and it took a while to get it to accept. Don't know, might have been clock related or my skilled typing. ear
