Maybe to qualify my' most desirable chamberings' comment; it seems human nature to want something after it is gone, and some of us kinda thought certain chamberings would last longer than they did and had them on a wish list. If an accountant makes all the decisions on what to keep, he might decide washing machines are better to sell than guns. Fact is, most of us will only buy one chambering of a firearm, a few will buy two; so once the sale is made who is going to buy? Well, if you dump the model, nobody; seems like a self fullfilling prophecy. I think real firearms enthusiasts should be making these decisions. Remember, 'they' said Bill Ruger was a fool how many times.
I admit that desire needs to translate into sales at some point, though in a down economy many of us have to choose between another indulgence or the house or health care payment. I just dont see the sense in a company with a certain market cache dropping a model already tooled up for, it is really just a barrel, after all. If they offered it in different clothes, which they already have, than just the CR carbine there might have been better sales. If I can figure this out, so can management at a big company, after all, I aint no genius.
