Called fox ridge custom shop the other day to check on the waiting period for a 22'' 7-30 sst bull bbl. I about FELL off my chair when she very easily said 10 to 12 weeks!!!! I should have asked what the reason for the long wait is don't they stock a resonable inventory of popular calibers or is there just to many variables in lengths , calibers etc. doesn't really matter this time of year but if you were in a hurry 3 months would be a long wait. it would be interesting to get a tour of the thompson shops in NH she said they were all on the same property , has anyone been up there is it worth while or can't you see much. You can probably cut that in half by ordering from Ed's TCs rather than direct and likely save money to boot.

The last custom shop barrel I bought they told me 10 weeks. 16 weeks later it showed up. Very nice barrel but thats too long to wait for a barrel. KN

KN were you happy with your bbl. I can't understand why they take so long I wonder how many bbl. they turn out.

It took me almost 4 1/2 months to get my barrel back from bullberry.

I ordered a 375 JDJ contender rifle barrel from Fox Ridge back in early November and got it in 3 weeks, T'SOB installed!! I was told 10-12 weeks when I ordered it. It came too fast - impacted my Holiday shopping. Haven't shot it yet - don't have a scope. I must have got lucky or something.

The first custom barrel I got was a BB barrel I ordered took 6 1/2 months to recieve. They told me 12 weeks when I ordered it. Excellent workmanship but I got awfully tired of hearing the same excuses. The next time around I did a little more shopping and found what I wanted with no significant wait. You may want to spend a little time looking around in the classifieds and alternative outlets as you can often find what you want with no wait.

WOW 61/2 months thats a long wait, I ordered the bbl. thru ED's contenders like GB suggested and I am getting it a little cheaper but he said 8-12 weeks so I didnt save any time there but it might come sooner , anyway this time of year isn't a problem I have alot of stock refinishing to do while I'm waiting- thanks and hope you get that-- ONE GOOD SHOT !!!!

:grin: Have recently gotten three Custom Shop barrels made.....lady said 10 - 12 weeks and they all came much sooner than that.....VERY pleased with the product and time.......had a .14 made that took 9 MONTHS....had a .17 CCM made by Bullberry that took 6 Months.......go with the Custom Shop if you can......Hal

Ordered a BB barrel. Took 24 weeks, twice what I was told. Arrived with a scope screw hole messed up and two scrapes on the barrel. Shoots better than anything else I own.

Custom Shop from Fox Ridge took 10 weeks 4 days, w3as told 12 weeks and I looks typical of T/C's deep blue finish. For a .450 Marlin, it shoots real good. Haven't order a 204 barrel yet, but when I get arround to it, I'll definately put the Custom Shop at the top of the list.

I ordered a 300 WSM barrel and custom stock from Virgin Valley in February 2003 and received it in August. Long wait but WELL worth it. I ordered a Custom Shop barrel in October and got it in December. That was like express delivery to me.
