We were touring around Arizona a couple years ago and stopped at the Desert Museum run by the National Park Service. They had the American flag flying at the same height as the Mexican flag. They got a pretty scalding comment in their suggestions box, but it undoubtedly fell on deaf [and dumb] Park Service ears.

bilmac - At least you had the gumption to leave a note.  I would suggest you contact your US Senator & Representative.  Hopefully the person in charge of the desert museum is just ignorant of a copy of proper US flag etiquette.  Maybe you should send him a copy of proper US flag etiquette.  I would hate to believe that a US government official is intentionally ignoring proper US flag etiquette.  Failing that, write a letter to the local newspaper.

A national spelling bee in spanish? Is this part of a foriegn studies program? If not somebody needs to be taken out back.
 
The only flag that can ever be flown over the US flag is that of the chaplain and only during services.
 
I work on a military base there are several foriegn detachments, none of their flags are flown as high or higher than the US flag.

The Texas flag can be flown at the same height as the United States flag because Texas joined the union by treaty, not annexation.

MATT. HEH, well for one thing there wouldn't be any mex flags flying i n America. The anti illegal laws would be enforced, those here legally would learn and SPEAK English or GET OUT, Signs, ballots would be in ENGLISH, they don't speak english ya don't vote. True about the Texas flag. Same height is legal. But folks don't really respect the flag protocol anymore, unfortunately, for any nation. I have seen an Israeli flag flown over the American flag many times in the US.
