Hello All,
I got to shoot my Tradition's Pursuit LT rifle today and tried some of the TC Mag Express with the Hornady XTP 300 grain bullets. I was using 80 grains of T-7 powder and Winchester T-7 primers. First the bullets were a bear to load even with a clean barrel. Second the sabots that came with the TC's were smooth long petal sabots and they did not shoot well in my gun.
I had some of the red short sabots that come with the Hornady SST bullets and tried them. They loaded much easier and shot a nice 2 inch group at 50 yards.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what sabot I should order to use with this bullet?

Harvester and MMP both make different thickness sabots for underbored barrels...Google them and order some online...You will need to know what diameter bullet you are using...

I have been reading some posts here and decided to try the Harvester Crush Rib for .451/.452 bullets.
I will let you know how they work once I have a chance to try them.

Just received the Harvester Crush Rib Sabots yesterday and pushed one loaded w/ the .452 XTP bullet thru my gun. They loaded well and I think they are going to be the ticket for this setup. Now to get to the range to finalize the powder load. Thanks again for your help.

Shooting them with different powder charges is the only way to find out how they will group...Good luck with them...

You might want to give the TC Cheap Shots Sabots and bullets a try.  It's a 240grain all lead bullet using a black TC (actually a Hornady product) sabot (for .451/.452 diameter bullets).  I found that these work really good in my TC Omega accuracy wise, it also does a heck of a job on deer too.  The price is also a plus.

i never knew what brand the sabots where but they shoot wonderful out of my savage and the price is easy on my wallet deadly on deer. i like the little bags they come in fits in my pockets nice and easy for fast reloads

+1 they work great in my Encore and my cast boolits
