Cajuns are good folk.  A little "squirrely" maybe, but good folk.  Practical and funny in a Salt-of-the-Earth sort of way.  I knew several in the Service and when I lived for a year in New Orleans.  They were usually the Life of the party and knew where to get the best 'shine, crawdads, and 'phrimp that money could buy.

I like all of them I've met.  Most of us in the South share similar attitudes anyway.  I may not know where the shrimp is, but I can find you some catfish!
