Happy 4th
« on: July 04, 2011, 04:06:46 PM »
Happy 4th everybody. It's a good day to thank veterans for the freedom to celebrate. I was standing in line at the checkout at Wal Mart this morning when I felt a tug on my pants leg. I looked down to see a cute little girl about 7 years old, wide eyed and looking up at me. She pointed at my ball cap ( A Vietnam Vet cap) and asked if I was a vet. I told her yes I am. She smiled, grabbed my hand and said, "Thank you for serving!" and then shyly ran back to her Mom. I had a hard time not crying but she really made my whole day and then some.

Sorry but it's Happy Independence Day.
The 4th of July is a date on a calender that most folks think of as a day off, but they rarely think of what it stands for.
Independence Day says it all so folks don't forget.

We are in need of rain and things are very dry so there will be no fireworks to night.
But we played a game of baseball this morning after we raised my daddy's flag and this afternoon we had a BBQ.
I also got to teach two youngsters to shoot a rifle.
Had few beers with my friends and tossed some horse shoes.
Then we had some watermelon and home made ice cream.
Had a wonderful day.
It's almost sundown and we will be taking daddy's flag down soon fold it up and put it back in it's case.
Spirithawk I owe all this to you and all who served this Great Nation. Thank You and God Bless.

Good Evening Everyone!  Let the Celebration of Independance Day begin.
Thank God for all that we have, even though we've fought hard by sweat, blood, and guts to preserve our freedom.  Let's continue to stand tall and trust in the God of our forefathers.
Enjoy your rights to keep and bear arms.

A little late, but just to let some of you see what a good flash mob can do:

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.
