Sweet...Now you gotta get you some custom grips on that thing...

I put some Bird's Eye Maple on my .44...They sure increase the comfort...Those hard plastic checkered grips are heck on the hands...I got mine from Private's...

Yeah, I get it, GB. It was an impulse buy. You're just like the rest of us. Good choice though. Remember to remove the yellow ring before you shoot it. In jest, Hunman55-Archie

Lipsey's has the new smaller flat top frame in both .45 Colt and .44 Special as limited editions. I'm waiting for the 5.5" .44 Special to arrive. That is actually why I was at the store yesterday they got a shipment from Lipsey's and I thought it might be in there but wasn't.

I've been intending to pick up a .45 Colt single action for awhile now and had been back and forth over whether it should be an Uberti or US Firearms or maybe the Ruger. I don't plan to shoot Ruger level loads in it so either of the three would have worked strength wise.

I plan on shooting 250'ish weight bullets at around 950-1000 fps from it. I might pick up one of the RCBS 270 SAA moulds also and if so I'll likely push that one around 900-950 fps.

I actually like the grips on this gun. My 9.5" Single Six has the same grips and I have no plans to change them out. Other than the Bisley frame I happen to like these grips better than anything else on the Rugers well other than that new Single Ten those grips felt even better.

Now mind you this wasn't all I brought home yesterday and it was added after I made the first purchase for a package deal. The other is shown in the S&W Forum. I'll give you a peek here.

Almost forgot to comment on the yellow ring. It will likely stay in there a lot as my 3 year old grandson Wyatt likes to POW papa Bill's guns when he's down here. He has taken a real shine to the BH as it's light enough for him to hold up easily and he can cock the hammer back on it easier than on the S&W. He's learning both gun safety and a love for guns from me. He knows how to check about all my guns to be sure they aren't loaded and knows not to handle them until I check them and assure they are safe to handle.

Yeah don't be holding your breath waiting on that to happen. The only safety that matters is the one between the ears of the fellow holding the gun.
