Day or night pig hunts?
« on: December 31, 2003, 06:58:11 AM »
When is it better to hunt pigs? Day or night? Is Texas the only state that allows night hunting? Do most outfitters offer the option? Is it fair to say that the bigger boars will be out night? Are pigs nocturnal naturally?

it depends on when they are moving, which seems to depend on the weather a bit.  I have that in E. Tx , right around the time deer season ends, the hogs begin to move more during daylight hours.  I think it has a bit to do with the lack of food.  Most acorns and such are pretty much gone by then and the hogs, like other animals are traveling more in search of food.
