Browning BLR Magazine Conversion/Extension
« on: July 14, 2011, 07:02:38 PM »
Can anyone offer any suggestions about getting a Browning BLR magazine extended to 10 shot? Would be interested in hearing about past projects or even gunsmiths that may be able help.

It may be possible to modify an M14 magazine to be used by the BLR but I've not seen it done.  It would likely be fairly expensive as there would be fabrication incolved and time consuming fitting..  Check the dimensions and catch method used by Browing for the BLR. I'll attach a parts blowup link below.. Also just for my curiosity why would this be a project? A spare mag or 2 would be easy to do..?

By the sound of a couple of spare mags might be the easiest way to get around it. I wanted the larger capacity for mobs of pigs on the run. It doesnt take long to get out four shots with the BLR ....

I have hunted with Browning levers since they first came out in 1971...But I have yet to find anyone that would tackle making a extended mag for one. Lord knows I've looked & talked to gunsmiths about this project for years. They say it could be done but would cost too much to be worth their time.  :o
