Word around the shop is the DNR will allow feeding. "DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT" I haven't actually checked that out for myself. Some of the guy's have been talking with other hunting clubs and all have heard the samething. Before I start dumping bags of corn I will certainly make sure it's true. ;)

It's true. Hunters may hunt deer over bait in the Southern Zone, but not the Northern zone.  To further complicate the issue for the DNR field agents, hogs may be hunted over bait in the Northern zone.

Ya'll be carefull in those areas where one species but not the other can be hunted in one zone over bait and vice versa. Very easy for a warden to just say he suspects you of being there for the non legal species and whether you prove your innocence in court or not, you WILL be stuck with an exhorbitant "court cost". Welcome to the "Hall of Revenue" you all. Been there done that. Food for thought everybody.

there ain't going to be much corn.  the price is over $10.00 a 50# bag here in  Va.. 50# won't last long with squrils, birds, deer, hogs.

a bill was passed to remove the distance requirements from feed. it went to the gov for veto or signature. i haven't heard what action he took, if any. i think, if he does neither, it automatically becomes law on july 1.

this applies to s ga for deer and hogs and to n ga for hogs only in some areas.

This should have happened several years ago. Most hunters I know around home bait deer just before the season opens and then occasionally during the season. I have had years where I put out 1000 pounds of corn and never seen the first deer come to it in legal shooting hours. Last year I put out over 500 pounds during the season at one stand and only seen a small doe walk by.

Them cotton pickers will come up on my daughter's porch and eat the dog food, but never show up in shooting light.....it's a deer conspiracy.

Did you know a bunch of coon's can eat their weight in corn in one night?
