I can't answer about pellets, or 777, but I did have some old Pyrodex, about 10 years. It did ignite, and shoot, but did not seem to have the same muzzleblast, and felt recoil, as an equal load of new Pyrodex. It had been stored in it's original container, with a tight lid. It did not group the same as the new either.
