Hawes yes, one chambered for 45ACP no.
 
I had a Chief Marshal 44MAG and a Deputy Marshal 22LR many, many years ago, and they were fine revolvers that never missed a beat.   
 
Other favorite SA's I had from J.P. Sauer was a brace of Herter's in 357 Power Mag and 401 Power Mag.
 
All of them are long gone now though.

I have both a Hy Hunter (Hawes/Sauer) in 44 Mag and a couple in .22.  They are fine revolvers and gave Ruger a run for the money back in the late 60's and 70's.  The basic choice if you wanted a 44 mag was Hawes or Ruger and the difference was the adjustable sights of the Ruger.  The Hawes was about $75 and the Ruger was $87.  I had a hard decision between them for my first big bore revolver but the Ruger won as a hunting revolver with the better sights.  I have been having a ball shooting my 'rough' .44 Hy Hunter I got about a year ago.  If you wanted your gun to shoot .45 colt, you can still buy a .44 mag cylinder from Nurmrich Arms aka 'gunpartscorp.com' for only $56 and you could have that re-chambered to .45 colt easily enough.  Your barrel was used for both the acp and colt rounds so it will work fine.  Enjoy that gun!  Let us know how it shoots for you.  44 Man

They're probably pretty rare everywhere... most folks just won't let them go once they get a hold of one.   I think George only sold them from about 1961 until soon after the GCA of 1968 stopped him from shipping direct to customers.   I bought mine in 1967, but preferred the 401 and didn't keep the 357 more than a few years.   The 401 was my favorite hog gun, and I was still reloading for and shooting it for IHMSA until around 10-11 years ago when I sold it.  Big mistake, one of those I wish I had kept.

I'd say they gave Ruger and Colt both a run for their money back then.   Lots of folks couldn't afford a Colt, but they could afford a Ruger or Hawes SA.
 
My Chief Marshal 44MAG had adjustable sights though, and they also came in 357MAG and 45 Colt.   So this Hawes model was another choice if you wanted them on your SA.
