Does Lasik eye surgery improve shooting with iron sights?

I've been debating with myself about getting Lasik performed.

- my 55 year old eyeballs have disappointed me for sometime

-  my distance shooting has been affected

I'd appreciate any input from someone who has experienced Lasik surgery.

My shooting improved with iron sights after having the surgery. But i don't know if thats normal or not. I was about 48 when i had it done and my vision is still good at 58. ED K

P-R-K works, it's like lasik BUT instead of pulling up your cornea, lasering your lens, and putting your cornea back down, ..... the doctor will use a "buffer" like what a dentist would to polish your teeth to BUFF OFF YOUR CORNEA, laser your lens, and then you wear goggles and/or sunglasses for a couple months until you're healed.  it fixes astigmatisms and is more thorough all around, but it's rediculously painful before and after, you have to watch as someone buffs your eyes, and if you don't cover your eyes correctly for two months your vision will be affected.  if you don't have major eye problems lasik will probably work.

I've had lasik and it didn't do me any good for iron sights. I think its different with everyone. And it didn't keep my eyes from continuing to change. People I've talked to that were near-sighted seem to have had better luck with it. For close-up work, I need glasses; sometimes two pairs, but they are the cheap ones a guy can get at wally-world.
