CZ 52
« on: July 17, 2011, 04:18:43 PM »
quick question for the CZ 52 owners. Last time i had mine out i was shooting a few mags with S&B ammo. It was doing good then the slide was not wanting to go forward all the way after each shot. I was told by few people could be dirty chamber which i have cleaned and lubed since then but not had it out since, bad ammo or a weak recoil spring. next time i get it out going to try different ammo and see if that helps any other thoughts. Any help would be appreciated.

Never had that problem with a factory load (I've shot the yellow Norinco ammo as well as S&B in mine).  I think the 52's chamber is a bit tight though.   Without adding a heavy taper crimp to my reloads they would basically do what you're describing.  Some buildup in the chamber certainly could lead to some issues.

Seen the problem on a buddy's Cz52 once or twice.  I think both times it was with original surplus ammunition.  He also uses S&B with no problems.  Last time we had his out it occurred, didn't think we were going to be able to get the slide back to eject the cartridge, had to be very careful.  Can be a tricky situation to get into.
