BamaBows - Expedition Hunter
« on: October 03, 2011, 04:39:26 PM »
After an 8 week wait, my BamaBows - Expedition Hunter came in the mail today. Its 58" AMO and 45# @ 27" with Bocote riser W/Bocote riser overlay, 3-laminations of walnut W/coreglass, phenolic & elk stag tips under black glass, W/D-97string. If your looking for an excellant bow and bowyer Nathanael Steele at BamaBows is your man. He gave me advise on what woods to use in the limbs to get the most speed out of the bow with the weight I wanted and my draw length. Great guy to work with during the whole process. Check out his work.  www.bamabows.com

Randy...Very Sweet.  Is that antler on the limb tips?

I'd like to get a new/retro bow...even a nice old recurve but I just don't shoot enough.  Something about bone-spurs in the shoulders that takes the fun out of it.

Right now i'm working with a xx75 2013 with standard insert, uni-nock, 175 gr. point/woodsman elite 3-blade broadhead, 3-5 1/2" shield cut feathers and a xx75 2016 with 100 gr. brass insert,uni-nock, 175 gr. point/woodsman elite 3-blade broadhead, 3-5 1/2" shield cut feathers. Both set ups are flying like darts. Will be trying the G/T Traditional 15/35 and 35/55 soon. I have been using "Stu Millers Dynamic Spine Calculator" to set up these arrows and I can say his calculator is dead on !!!!

I had a rotator cuff problem from shooting too heavy of a bow,70# compound to a 55# longbow, now with the 45# longbow its much easier on the joints....lol.....But alot more fun with the longbow than the compound.
