« on: July 20, 2011, 08:50:42 AM »
I was lucky enough to have some Vac time to use , so this week I'm spending most of the real hot hours in the basement lubing bullets and loading ammo , I truely feel sorry for the guys that HAVE to be out in this , their talking heat index's of close to 115 by tomorrow . YUCK

Keep cool and stay safe !

Just think...in a few short months we will have knee deep snow and it will be so cold that exposed skin will sting when you go outside. Gotta love this fine state!

After studying the dog I have taken to lying on the bathroom floor with my face up against the toilet ;) .

You easterners are welcome to this humidity and heat. All joking aside this system is a killer. The humidity defies description.

Yep. I spent all day yesterday dealing one heat related illness after another. Stay hydrated! Its amazing how many people dont realize you need to keep drinking water even when you dont feel thirsty in weather like this!

OK, a real answer, coolest (pun intended) thing I have found lately is a bandana with those water absorbing crystals in it..Soak in ice water 'til swelled and wear it around your neck in a loose knot.

I never tried the fancy model you describe but have many time used a hand towel soaked in ice water the same way and it really does make a big difference.

Me and the youngest boy have been going thru the popcicle's pretty quick. Hate to see what the electric bill will be for this month. Lots of fans going, and the dehumidifier running in the basement. gypsyman

I put a 6,200 btu window unit in my 8' by 15' reload room out in my wife's horse barn.  The room is well insulated so with the A/C on medium it doubles as a walkin beer cooler.  Only problem with it so nasty hot at the gun range I have almost no brass left to load.  I now go to the "possum lodge" to clean guns. :P   I hope it gets better soon as my trigger finger is starting to get out of shape.

Aren't those the little fuzzy animals they found on the original Star Trek? :)  "The Trouble With Dribbles" I believe it was called.
