I can't really explain why I want one but I have been bitten by the heavy barrel bug. I am leaning towards a 26" matte finish .270 Win from Fox Ridge. I currently have the standard taper in .270 Win. 99% of my hunting is from stands/blinds but sometimes I like to slip around in the woods on foot. My current setup totes like a dream, how much difference would the 26" heavy taper make?
