I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with the new CVA Scout it seems as though it could be a great value. Thanks for your info.

Not sure YET. Our compact .243 will be in hopefully tomorrow.

They are discontinuing their full size versions though as the compact scouts in .35whelen, 4570 and 243, 7mm08 are outselling the full size versions.

I've got one in 44 mag topped with a 2-7 Redfield. It's a one hole shooter with 240gr. ammo. :D  Very nice rifles for the money.

I have the Scout in 35 Whelen.  I like the gun, but really love the caliber.  I had tried a couple of the NEF Handi rifles in whelen, nothing but problems with failure to fire.  The Scout is a better piece I believe.  I've shot it a lot, never had a failure to fire, and it is quite accurate.  With it's faster twist, advertised 1-10, but really 1-14, it stabilizes the Lyman 275 gr.  358009 cast bullet that he handi rifle won't.  Get it, you will be happy.  The whelen hits deer like a lightning bolt!

Ya I have always been interested in the whelen. I am mainly thinking of it as anything rifle to always have in the truck whatever I come across I should be able to dispatch without any troubles.
