What the heck happen too winter ?

I just thought I would vent some about our weather. Its the 30th of Dec and pouring rain right now and I do mean pouring. We only have about 2 inches of snow as it is. And that looks like it will be gone now.eerrrr The police scanner is starting to go nutts with cars in the ditch due to it being only 30degrees and raining. They are saying it should hit about 40degrees today for a high.eeerrr I dont know whats going on but we seem to get less and less snow every year now.

When my dad moved to this area 35 years ago he said it snowed a few inches just about every day. And if the weatherman said we were going to get acouple inches of snow you had better have the loader ready to move snow because you were going to get dumped on. When he first move here he cut timber and said that when you cut down a Jackpine when it the ground it would go out of site in the deep snow. Now we are lucky if we have a foot of snow at one time on the ground all winter.

The biggest snow fall we had last winter here last year was in March and only stayed on the ground a few day before it melted. This winter is looking like it might just be worse yet. eeerrrr :x

It's bitter sweet for me.
On one hand, I don't mind the open ground for the canine trapping. The maple sap will be running early and sweet, so I'll expect a good batch of glow by next fall, Might get some open water walleye fishing in before season ends, and Ducks will remain up north where it's safe (Until next season) :grin:
On the other hand, this will not help the lake levels in Michigan, and there's no deep snow to push those bank running mink into the water, and I also don't think the morel mushrooms take to well to this crap.

I guess I'd rather have winter back......after about 50 gallons of sap to get the season rolling.
