Tarus 84 ?
« on: August 12, 2011, 10:11:16 AM »
Does anyone have something good to say about them ? I bought one then looked on the net for reviews almost everyone says they are poor guns. I know I did it backwards but thats thy way my life has been going lately.

Taurus is usually gun to gun quality. I have a model 85 .38 revolver that was made in '77. Still a good shooter and reliable. It was a door-stop for two years. Still works great. Has taken a whitetail and other small critters. Oddly, it likes light bullet weights but still a fine gun. If YOU are satisfied with the individual gun then that is the best it can be. Just don't judge one Taurus by the fault of another Taurus.  ;)

I have a mid-90's vintage model 94 - been a good gun, no problems.  HAD a model 66 made in about 2001, complete opposite of the 94!

I really like the looks and concept of a lot of their guns, but don't plan to buy another anytime soon.
It's almost like their quality control department only works part-time.  Sometimes you get a good one, sometimes you get a bad one.  Good luck with yours.
